Pediatrics

As the mother of 2 beautiful healthy daughters and a practicing physician for 16 years, Dr. Risa Sloves knows first hand the stresses of every day living. Having gone through 2 pregnancies and delivering both of her children naturally, she knows the importance of taking optimal care of one's body before, during and after pregnancy. Watching her children develop and grow on a daily basis, she is also fully aware of the stresses that children face, physically, emotionally, and environmentally. That is why Dr. Sloves has a family based chiropractic office that provides gentle chiropractic care specializing in infants, children, adolescents and pregnant women (she does take care of dads and grandparents, too!).

In order to expand her knowledge and education so that she could provide the highest quality of chiropractic care, Dr. Sloves completed a three-year post-doctorate program through the New York Chiropractic College and passed the Board Examinations required to obtain a Diplomate Degree from the International Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics. As part of this training, she has been certified in the Webster Turning Technique which allows breech babies to get into the best possible position for labor and delivery. She is currently 1 of 10 Chiropractic Physicians in Connecticut to have obtained this degree.
